 Introduction
 This newsletter is an extra edition entirely devoted to the newest ZooEasy product: ZooEasy Online. We would like to inform you of this new pride of our company which has been brought onto the market October 1st of this year. In this special edition we will cover, amongst others: an explanation of what exactly ZooEasy Online is, what the possibilities of this web application are, the target group for the product and an explanation of security and other important issues. Also pricing will be further elaborated upon, as well as the possibilities for transferring to ZooEasy Online from other programs.
What is ZooEasy Online?
 With ZooEasy Online a central online database can be maintained from different locations and with multiple users. Via Internet, all data of animals, breeding pairs, results and contacts can be registered extensively. The calculation of inbreeding, relationship percentages, the compiling of trial pedigrees and population insights can all be completed as well as the registration of results (shows, tests and competitions), medical information and reports. The inbreeding and relationship calculation is provided by Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
ZooEasy Online is developed specifically for the commercial, business market (not private individuals). The target group of ZooEasy Online consists of (breed) associations, clubs, herdbooks and organizations that wish to set up a central herdbook which will allow multiple users to gain access from different locations. In case of committee / board member changes, there will always be continuity in the register since accounts merely need to be transferred to the new committee or board. Dependency on a single person administering the database can thus be ruled out. Access to the non (privacy) sensitive information of the database can be granted to members by means of reading accounts. Also mutation accounts can be issued to, for example, committee members for the adding, modifying and/or removing of data. Persons with administration rights can manage the basic data of the administration such as accounts, breeds, colors and titles. Lastly, ZooEasy Online also offers the possibility for associations and clubs to allow members to enter and modify their own data. This can simply be done by the allocation of extra rights by the administrator. ZooEasy Online is available in English and Dutch. From the beginning of 2009, ZooEasy Online will also be offered in a German version.

- User friendly: Extremely easy to use, no advanced computer knowledge required.
Only a PC with an Internet connection is required for ZooEasy Online.
Security, Hosting and Backups
 The central databank of ZooEasy Online is protected from unauthorized access. Members receive a username and password with which they can consult the data. This occurs through reading accounts which ensure only certain public (non privacy sensitive) information is displayed to users. In this manner the association or club can offer members access to the register but can still shield information which cannot be made public such as certain remarks or internal notes.
Committee members can, if desired, receive the right to add, modify and/or remove data by means of so-called mutation accounts. As such different authorization profiles can be issued. The hosting of ZooEasy Online is completely taken care of by ZooEasy, simplifying this issue for the association or club. In addition, a backup is made by ZooEasy on a daily basis. Loss of information will therefore not occur.
First users
On October 1st, the Dutch Association of Staby and Wetterhouns (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Stabij- en Wetterhounen, NVSW) and the Weimaraner Association (Weimaarse Staande hond) were the first to start working with ZooEasy Online.

In November also the Dutch Association of Vizsla’s (Nederlandse Vereniging van Hongaarse Staande Honden) and Boerboel International LTD will start working with this online database. Multiple associations and clubs have already requested quotations and/or have displayed an interest in the product. The expectation is therefore that this user group will expand quickly over the upcoming months. Also the first training in ZooEasy Online has been given to the Dutch Association of Staby and Wetterhouns.
Transferring from another program
It is very simple to transfer from ZooEasy stand alone to the online version since the importing of these files is taken care of by ZooEasy free of charge. In addition, it is also possible to import files from other programs. (supplementary pricing applicable)
Pricing
The price for ZooEasy Online consists of a purchase price and annual maintenance costs. The pricing policy is built up in such a way that ZooEasy Online can be applied to associations and clubs of all sizes, varying from associations and clubs with a broad budget to associations and clubs with a limited budget. The purchase price of ZooEasy Online is constructed from the ZooEasy Online Basis, the number of extra mutation accounts, reading accounts, the importing of files and any training or customization. It is dependent on the wants and needs of the association or club itself which of these are hereby applicable. An association or club can already start working with ZooEasy Online from € 895 (ex VAT). This ZooEasy Online basis contains all modules; Animals, Breeding pairs, Contacts, Management, My Account, Logbook, Attachments and Results, including 1 mutation account. Please contact us for pricing with regard to the purchasing of extra mutation accounts and reading accounts. The same applies to our customized reports and setting up of the database. We are also happy to give you more information on the costs of the annual maintenance contract as well as a complete explanation of the price construction.
