As of May 1st, software company ZooEasy is part of VHLGenetics in Wageningen. ZooEasy offers a software solution that allows hundreds of breed associations, studbooks and private breeders worldwide to easily maintain their pedigree and breeding records. VHLGenetics (also known as Dr. van Haeringen Laboratorium) performs genetic research for many of these associations and its members under, among others, the label CombiBreed. Based on this research, they gain insight into the parentage and health of their animals.
By joining forces, ZooEasy and VHLGenetics can serve their clients even better. Erik Reudink, owner of ZooEasy: “I started ZooEasy in 1993. In the years since, ZooEasy has grown into a widely used software tool, both in the Netherlands but also in numerous other countries. For example, we have a large proportion of purebred dog associations as customers. In addition, we serve numerous associations with other animal species such as cats, cattle, sheep and goats. The cooperation with VHL enables us to offer continuity to our existing customers and to invest in new software. It also allows us to acquire more clients both at home and abroad given VHLGenetics’ broad clientele.
Bert de Lange, director of VHLGenetics: ‘Our clients attach great value to healthy animals. This is why we see an increasing need among our clients to gain insight into the genetic health and welfare of their animals through DNA testing. VHLGenetics offers these tests via CombiBreed. Through ZooEasy, we can help associations and breeders translate that genetic data into both strategic breeding policies and practical applications in the form of DNA-based mating recommendations.
As a customer, you can simply contact ZooEasy in the familiar way and the employees known to you will answer your questions or comments.
