This explanation is meant to add additional information to an animal. Adding extra information to a contact or breeding pair works in the same way.
1. Click the menu Management
2. Click the tab Base tables
3. Click the drop down box Contact categories and select Extra field categories Animals
4. Click Add
5. Fill in the following information:
Description = Health
Position = 1
6. Click Save
Next we want to keep track of the hip dysplasia (HD) of our animals. These are standard values we want to select from a drop down box:
7. Go back to the drop down box Contact categories and select Extra fields Animals
8. Click Add
9. Fill in the following information:
Description = HD
Category = Health
Options = HD A; HD B; HD C; HD D;
Position = 1
10. Click Save
For Single Users the fields will automatically be visible. Other accounts will need to take a couple of extra steps to make the fields visible:
11. Click the menu Management
12. Click the tab Base tables
13. Select Roles
14. Select your own Role
15. Click in the 2nd row on the tab Extra fields
16. Make sure all the boxes are checked:
✔ Display tab Extra fields
✔ Display tab Extra field category Health
Disp. Mod.
HD ✔ ✔
17. Click Save
You’ll have to logout and login again to see the changes yourself. If you go back to the animal you will then be able to see the extra field.
