Status update for ZooEasy Stand alone users

Do you use the Online version? Then this message does not apply to you.

We stopped selling the ZooEasy Stand Alone version since last year. From that moment on we only sell the ZooEasy Online version.

We have indicated in previous messages that we would stop the helpdesk support on the ZooEasy Stand alone version as of 1 June 2020. However, partly due to the Corona measures, we have not yet completed all important functions, as a result of which some of the users cannot switch without data loss. The following important functions are still missing:

  • 617: Status color of an animal (June 2020)
  • 613: Cash book for registration of income and expenses (September 2020)
  • 615: Measurements  of weight, length and/or height of an animal (December 2020)
  • 614: Recording general documents (December 2020)
  • 576: Logbook and notes for registration of notes and scheduled tasks (January 2021)

Are you not using (part of) this functionality? Then you can switch earlier. After each number we have indicated when the functionality will be available in the ZooEasy Online version. In order to give all users enough time to make a choice, we decided to extend the helpdesk support on the ZooEasy Stand alone version until December 31, 2020.

We also indicated in previous messages that we will make our servers unavailable from 1 June 2020, so that users of the v10, v11 and v12 could no longer work with the Stand alone version. We have decided to abandon this so that everyone can continue to work with the Stand alone version.

What will happen in the coming months?

  • In May 2020 we will inform you personally to switch to the Online version.
  • From January 1, 2021, the Stand Alone version is no longer supported by our help desk. Questions asked to our help desk will no longer be processed.
  • In the coming months, our development team is busy adding improvements to the Online version.

What should I do exactly?

  • Do you use version 13.05? Then you can continue to work with the program.
  • Do you use versions 13.01 to 13.04? Then you can download the free version 13.05.
  • Are you using an older version? Then you can continue to work with the program.

What can I do with the ZooEasy Online version?

We would like to continue to help you with our product. That is why we are going to further develop ZooEasy Online so that you can switch seamlessly.

  • From May 2020 ZooEasy Online can do almost everything that your current program can do. 
  • You switch to the Online version without data loss.
  • With ZooEasy Online you can log in to your database securely, anytime and anywhere. At home, with friends or during a show.
  • Your data is always safe. 
  • Updates are free and immediately visible in your online environment.

Will you help me with the switch to the Online version?

Of course! As soon as you are personally informed by us in May 2020 that you can switch, our help desk staff will be ready to help you. We have made a simple step-by-step with a video that you can already watch here

Can I do something already now?

You can continue to use ZooEasy Stand Alone for the time being. In May we will inform you by e-mail how you can switch to the Online version.

What are the costs for switching to the Online version?

If you want to switch, the costs are € 48 per year incl. VAT. However, the Online version does not currently offer the same functionality as the Stand alone version. The previously mentioned 4 wishes are still missing and will be developed in the coming period.

Will all data be migrated when I switch to the Online version?

Yes, all data is migrated. However, not all functionalities from the Stand alone version are already available in the Online version. We are going to work hard in the coming months to add these functionalities too.
